Have to wake from suspend twice

I wiggle my mouse to wake my desktop from suspend, i can hear the fans spin up and the lights come on then it goes back to sleep, i wiggle the mouse again and it wakes up fine. It's not a laptop, its not on battery. There were similar problems with laptops from google results in 2010 but nothing that seems to apply here.

I'm learning linux so you might need to be specific. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit

it doesn't do it if i suspend for less than a few minutes.

this is dmesg after a successful suspend and wakeup
