Is it safe to run do-release-upgrade on a production server with Ubuntu Server 14.04?

I have a server running Ubuntu Server 14.04 which runs Apache (and the company's web page + web app), MySQL (and the company's entire database), iRedMail (and the company's entire mailing system) and texLive (which builds the company's documents in pdf from a python script which fills a template from the database entries). As you may guess, this little server runs the entire company. So the big question is, is it safe to upgrade to 16.04.1 using do-release-upgrade? Or should I keep it as it is right now? Thanks in advance ;)
