This is how to remove the Twitter and Facebook icons from SharePoint Online public website [on hold]

I thought I would upload this solution in case anyone else needs to do this.

  1. Go to your public-facing SharePoint Online web site
  2. Click on the "Sign In" link (mine is on the right just above the Search Box)
  3. Go through the Microsoft Online Portal to log in
  4. Click on the "Site" tab (mine is on the left just under the Suite Bar)
  5. Click on the "Edit Style Sheet" button
  6. Add the following CSS style to the style sheet

    /* Remove the Twitter and Facebook icons from the top of the page.
    div.ms-rtestate-field span.ms-verticalAlignMiddle a { display: none; }

  7. Click on the "Save and Publish" button

The Twitter and Facebook icons should now be gone!

Hope this helps some -- it took me a while to figure this out!
